Eden Pureganic specialise in high welfare halal meat and poultry. We aim to raise the bar in the halal sector by making tayyib widely available to all. In the context of the halal meat industry Tayyib is a move away from non-ethical factory farming and a step closer to a focus on kindness to animals and the earth. Tayyib is mentioned directly alongside halal in the Quran as a criteria to eating food. It means lawful, good, wholesome, better, halal, healthy, ethical,
pure, gentle, fair, pleasant, agreeable.
Our Story
In 2014 what started off as a small community project to source a better quality of halal meat for his family and friends, Mohammed Kashaf quit the office grind and worked in all aspects of the halal meat industry by spending a lot of time on farms, becoming a slaughter man and working in the retail end of the meat sector at some of the UK’s leading supermarkets. This gave Mohammed some valuable insights into what is lacking in the quality and ethics of the halal meat we eat today. We set about refining these processes working with a network of farmers and abattoirs. Since 2016 we have been sourcing directly from farmers who share our values and have a rich tradition of ethical farming.
With incredible taste and flavour we believe this is the most meticulously sourced and highest quality halal meat available in the UK. Our intention was to achieve an authentic tayyib experience for the community.
